Community Events Policy

Plainfield Public Library will post special events on its web calendar as a community service.

  • Information must be received at least 5 working days before the event.
  • The Library intends to post only certain fields of information, including:
    • Date; Time; Name of Event; Location; Sponsor/Contact Person; Phone, E-mail, or URL Link
  • If incomplete information is posted, the Library will not revise postings.  It will correct any misinformation it might inadvertently publish.
  • Questions about admission costs should be directed to the sponsoring organization.
  • Events must be open to all, or reasonable limitations, e.g. adults only or children’s event.
  • Examples of Acceptable Events:
    • Non-partisan programs
    • Non-sectarian programs
    • Events located in Plainfield
    • Countywide events of interest to Plainfield residents
    • Fundraising events for 501c3 organizations.  Ex. House & garden tours, musical performances, tributes, health fairs, etc.
  • Examples of Unacceptable Events:
    • Political or religious events
    • Events coinciding with Library events
    • Regular group meetings

The Library Director and the Assistant Library Director will be solely responsible for determining the suitability of a posting.  No community event will be posted without their review and approval.
